Step 1: Download It

Head over to and hit the download button

step 2: Run as Administrator

• Locate the downloaded file (e.g., avg_av_clear.exe).
• Right-click and select “Run as administrator.”
• If prompted by User Account Control, click “Yes” to allow changes.

Step 3: Reboot into Safe Mode

• The tool will display a prompt to reboot into Safe Mode.
• Click “Reboot” or “Yes” to proceed.
• Your computer will restart in Safe Mode, where only essential processes run.

Step 4: Select Removal Option

• In Safe Mode, the tool launches automatically.
• Choose “Remove only” to completely uninstall AVG. (Alternatively, “Remove & Reinstall” is available if you plan to reinstall AVG.)
• For AVG Secure Browser, you can opt to delete browsing data.

Step 5: Confirm Uninstallation

• Click “Uninstall” to confirm.
• Wait as the tool removes all AVG files, registry entries, and data. This may take a few minutes.

Step 6: Restart Your Computer

• Once the process is complete, click “Restart now” to reboot back to normal mode.
• Your system should now be free of AVG software.
